Tre i protagonisti del film: la dottoressa Alganesh Fessah, italiana eritrea, una vita in prima linea per i suoi conterranei in fuga; i profughi in arrivo dal confine: l'Etiopia, terra che accoglie in tutto un milione di persone in fuga da Eritrea, Sud Sudan, Somalia, Congo.
