The Marker Variations / 2007
"If Isaki Lacuesta wants to use some of my footage, that's ok by me, at the end of the day, I have spent my life copying others" (Chris Marker). An act of cinematic love for the director of La Jetée. And cameras are forbidden at the meeting".
Bestiary: A Tribute to Chris Marker /
Inspired by Chris Marker's Bestiary. The short film is divided into three parts, each one will deal with the inner world of specific animals through a specific theme, and together they will give us a common vision of their inner life. The different pieces show specific situations: in the first the gestures of an animal, in the second different realities of some animals and the third an animal listening to music.
Crossing of Time: Marker and Mizoguchi's Ghosts / 2018
This work arises from the random encounter of two titles having a tie in the 50th place on the Sight & Sound list in 2012, curiously enough, when considering a dialogue between these two films, we see how cinema can generate its own ghosts: in both films the dead and the living coexist; in La Jeteé thanks to time (insubordinate of movement) and in Ugetsu Monogatari thanks to movement (a panoramic view within a sequence shot, which refers to a deceptive narrative continuity). What would happen if we stripped both films of their construction?
