Luca Bertacci è un uomo solo, sulla terra e nell'Italia prossima a un'invasione aliena. Abbandonato in tenera età dalla madre, Luca è cresciuto con un'idea alterata delle donne e dell'amore che cerca negli annunci erotici dei giornali. Segretamente innamorato della sua vicina, che gli preferisce un bellimbusto che specula su illuminazioni ed extraterrestri, Luca lavora come cameriere al Bingo, vive in un appartamento impersonale e parcheggia in un garage troppo grande per la sua auto e la sua inadeguatezza. La morte del gatto della dirimpettaia, sempre origliata e osservata, muoverà finalmente la sua vita in una direzione altra e felice, rischiarata dall'amore e dalla luce 'evoluta' della diversità.
