Rome is on the verge of being conquered by Hannibal. While Rome's ruler, Fabius Maximus, plots a defense against Hannibal's armies, Fabius' fiancée, Amytis, is curious about the fearless conqueror. Amytis travels to Hannibal's camp just to get a look at him, but she ends up being captured. However, she is instantly smitten by the Carthaginian commander, so she tries to shift his attentions away from Rome -- and to her instead.

This 54 minute program - narrated by actor John Hurt - chronicles the story of Jupiter starting with Galileo Galilei's Jupiter observations in the 1600's through the impacts of Comet Shoemaker-Levy on July 16-22, 1994. Computer animations and information are provided to give the viewer a solid background on the significance of Galileo's encounter with Jupiter. Also featured are interviews with comet discoverers Gene and Carolyn Shoemaker and David Levy, Caltech planetary scientist Andrew Ingersoll, Galileo Project Manager Bill O'Neil and other members of the Galileo mission team.

With godly entrapments, Zeus appears on the horizon, engages Hermes as an audience, and tries to throw some thunderbolts. They fizzle. Hephaestus tries to make some repairs but succeeds only in heating the bolts and burning Zeus's hands. Zeus conjures nine muses, but do their incantations help? He dismisses them as well as a visiting Pan, and his fits of pique become counter-productive. Can he get his powers back?
