Il colonnello Carruthers viene fatto salire a bordo della nave spaziale con l'ordine di arrestarlo e condurlo davanti alla corte marziale perché tutti credono che sia stato lui ad uccidere il suo equipaggio per impadronirsi di tutti i viveri. Carruthers prova a dimostrare la sua innocenza e parla a Van Heusen di alcune strane presenze. Nessuno gli crede finché due componenti dell'equipaggio non svaniscono nel nulla e ci si accorge della presenza di un clandestino a bordo...
