The History Project /

Since the mid-90’s, and the outbreak of common digital video editors, like iMovie and Windows Movie Maker, a silent epidemic has spread through our education system: The common "Video Project." Educational videos produced by teens, to educate their peers on subjects they haven't been taught yet, themselves. In 2015, (visionary producers) Daniel Ahrens & Jason Flood amassed a considerable collection of History Class video projects from across our great nation. "The History Project" curates these projects, and arranges them chronologically to tell the story of America. This is our past, told by our future.

It is an eerie work, with intriguing whispers, reminiscent of Chris Marker’s ‘La Jetee’ (1962) in its clash of science with humanity.

The Argus Project /

The Argus Project is a transmedia work that directly intersects the public debate over police accountability. At the center stands a suit of tactical counter-surveillance armor embedded with body cameras that offers a simple question: If the police wear body armor to protect themselves while in public, what must ‘The Public’ wear to protect themselves from the police? Video projections surround the suit featuring former officers, activists, and family members directly impacted by police violence. In turn, creating a space for a real conversation on police violence—one that our country desperately needs. This project is urgent and powerful and created by an incredible group of artists and activists.

The Oz Project / 2016

The Oz Project is a love letter to THE WIZARD OF OZ and THE WIZ created by some of their diehard fans at heart. This 10-minute music video follows the parallel journeys of the Dorothy character in each adaptation as they both get whisked away in the same tornado, land in their respective versions of Oz, and follow their own yellow brick road. Their stories are interwoven as the two classic versions are combined through their well-loved scores, and sung by some of the greatest voices on Broadway.

The Kiniing Project / 2021

The Kiniing Project re-visits the decades-old practice of curing meat in the Cordilleras, particularly in the province of Benguet. The film tackles kiniing as it is called in Kankanaey or kinuday by the neighbouring Ibalois and etag further north in the Mountain Province. Younger Igorots share their connection with kiniing and how they are now assuming responsibility in keeping indigenous cooking traditions alive.

The Capital Project / 2018

Although small in population, the music scene in the city of Fredericton, New Brunswick, is rich in talent across a wide range of genres including rock, punk, hip-hop, metal, country, pop, jazz, classical, and everything in-between. The Capital Project focuses on the tightly knit community and their relationship to The Capital, a music venue and bar that has served as a lynchpin of the live music scene for over a decade.

They define “living art” as a performance that involves a performer who is highly trained to encapsulate a type of character wearing an amazing handcrafted costume.
