Procol Harum: Live at the Union Chapel is a record of the final performance of the band's 2003 world tour, taped on December 12 before a small London crowd. The venue was an inspired choice. As a performance space, the Gothic church is at once both intimate and grand, a perfect mirror for the band's odd but cogent mix of bar-band boogie and classically tinged prog rock. The 21-song concert includes eight selections from The Well's on Fire, Procol Harum's 2003 studio album. Most of the newer songs are strong (particularly "The Question" and "An Old English Dream"), and the band, having honed its arrangements to a T, does an exceptional job of blending its recent music with its older material. Singer-pianist Gary Brooker and organist Matthew Fisher, both original members, lead the way through time-honored favorites like "Homburg," "Conquistador," and their immortal 1967 hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale."
The State of the Union / 2004
Student politics at Melbourne University has a reputation for being particularly dirty. The campus' student union elections have been skullduggerous affairs contested by groups including Young Labor and Liberals, the More Beer Club, as well as a strong contingent of revolutionary socialists. In 2003, the Melbourne University Student Union (MUSU) was on the verge of financial collapse. Allegations of corruption against the union's right-wing student leaders featured in the foremost pages of both The Australian and The Age. Having spent two years in the political wilderness, the campus' left wing factions united in a desperate bid to wrest back control and save the union. The State of the Union is a documentary capturing the bloodiest election in the history of student unionism, providing an illuminating and often humorous insight into the microcosm that is university politics, and perhaps politics in general.
Union Street / 2023
Interspersing interviews with archival footage, Union Street documents the history of Vancouver’s Hogan’s Alley, the formerly Black neighbourhood which was destroyed by the construction of the Georgia viaduct in the 1970s. This local history speaks to systemic racial injustice towards Vancouver’s Black community that has continued to this day. Revelatory conversations are had in the film surrounding the erasure of Black history in Canada, and the proliferation of hate groups such as the Ku Klux Klan which had chapters in Vancouver. Histories of now-closed Black-owned businesses in Hogan’s Alley such as Vie’s Chicken and Steakhouse have inspired a new generation of Black business owners in the neighbourhood, and the Black Lives Matter movement has reinvigorated discussion surrounding the destruction, as well as the history and memory of Hogan’s Alley. Beautifully filmed, this visual portrait speaks to the legacies of the past, as well as the present moment.

Panorama, Union Square, San Francisco / 1903
We have just received from our operators accompanying President Roosevelt on his great tour of the Pacific Coast, a splendid series of films covering his reception in San Francisco. The weather was all that could be desired, and the films are, therefore, very fine photographically. There are five scenes in all, as follows: 5. President Roosevelt on the Reviewing Stand. This is a great film. It shows the President as he is entering the reviewing stand, follows him to the reviewing position, and then gives a swinging panorama of Union Square, with its immense throng of spectators.

Recorded in late May 2015 in front of a live audience at Union Chapel in London, this powerful performance features the very best of this talented keyboardists (and founding member of Snarky Puppy) solo catalogue. Featuring Snarky Puppy band-mates Michael League (electric and upright bass) and Robert Sput Searight (drums), with contributions from percussionist Felix Higgenbottom and a full string section and French horn. This is a truly great contemporary jazz piano concert with nods to modal jazz icon Bill Evans, post-Coltrane piano giants McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock, and the fusion of Joe Zawinul & Chick Corea.
