Since 1985 he has directed documentary films. His works have been screened and awarded in Turin, Bergamo, Moscow, Paris. As a film editor, he has been working among others with Giacomo Battiato, Guido Chiesa, David Christensen, Davide Ferrario, Daniele Gaglianone, Mark Olexa, Andrea Porporati, Costanza Quatriglio, Francesca Scalisi, Valeria Testagrossa, Daniele Vicari, Andrea Zambelli in films screened and awarded in Cannes, Venice, Rome, Turin, Bari, Amsterdam, Toronto and worldwide in festivals and seasons. He is resident teacher at Scuola Cinema “Gian Maria Volonté”, Rome; he also teaches periodically at Centro Sperimentale Cinematografia, Rome and Palermo. In 2013 he won the International Award Mario Luzi, Inedited Poetry Section, and the following years he has often been among finalists at Haiku National Award. In 2016 he published – under the name Gregorio Lato – the collection of poems “Quando sarai più giovane”, followed in 2017 by “Una volta almeno” (Giuliano Ladolfi Editore).
